Geography

Here at Ash Grove, through our Geography curriculum, children are taught through geographical enquiry to recognise, evaluate, analyse and make recommendations based upon their knowledge and understanding. Children do this by engaging in elevating and captivating lessons, alongside this, they develop respect for different ways of life and cultures.
By drawing childrenā€™s attention to different ways of life and culture, this opens up pathways, which allows them to explore physical, human and environmental factors which can affect local, national and global communities and environments.
ā€œThe study of geography is more than just memorising places on a map. Itā€™s about understanding the complexity of our world, appreciating the diversity of cultures that exists across continents. In the end, itā€™s about using all that knowledge to help bridge divides and bring people togetherā€
